Executive Director

Executive Director - Clayton County Development Group, Inc. (CCDG) The Clayton County Development Group, Inc. (CCDG) is seeking applications for the position of Executive Director. This full-time opportunity, located in beautiful NE Iowa with an office in Elkader, leads the charge in driving economic growth across Clayton County's industrial, agricultural, retail and tourism sectors, strengthening communities and supporting long‑term prosperity throughout the county. The Executive Director will guide organizational strategy, manage daily operations, and serve as CCDG's key representative to partners and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in business, planning, urban development, public administration, economics, or similar fields; OR a combination of education and/or related work experience, such as economic development, community development, tourism, etc.
• Strong administrative, management, organizational skills and able to work independently
• Skilled with computer technology, e.g. Microsoft 365, Social Media Platforms, AI tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Dependable transportation

Preferred:

• Grant writing experience
• Local knowledge of Clayton County Key Responsibilities of the

Executive Director :

1. Work with the CCDG Board to develop and carry out long and short‑term strategies for Clayton County, supporting firms/Individuals looking to expand, relocate, or start new projects. 2. Support all Clayton County communities and development efforts to attract industry and create and/or retain jobs. 3. Represent CCDG at meetings with groups that influence economic development when beneficial. 4. Manage organization's financials to include budgeting, A/R, A/P, & Payroll via QuickBooks. 5. Find grant and funding opportunities/sources, prepare applications for CCDG projects, and manage awarded grants. 6. Coordinate volunteers and oversee, if any, employee responsibilities. 7. Perform other duties as assigned by the CCDG Board.

Salary and Benefits:

This is a full-time, salaried position. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, holidays, mileage reimbursement (IRS rate) and IPERS.

$48,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
