Job Description

Atlantic Health is searching for a qualified and experienced Exercise Physiologist to work part-time in the Cardiac Rehab department at Hackettstown Medical Center. This position is for 30 hours per week and will come with benefits that include Medical Insurance, Paid Time Off, and more. The Exercise Physiologist will be responsible for assisting in planning, supervising, and counseling of patients enrolled in cardiac rehab. Ensures patients safety for exercise equipment and physician prescribed exercise and assists in hemodynamic and physical measurements and EKG interpretation.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Assists clients with the equipment and their exercise programs, check clients, provide education on fitness and general nutrition as requested. 2. Maintains data on patient outcomes, and assists in special projects, such as community education. 3. Provides EKG rhythms on telemetry monitor and directs exercise accordingly. 4. Assists in objective signs and symptoms and modifies exercise programs based on individual strengths, limitations, and goals. 5. Maintains current knowledge in the field of exercise physiology and assist in providing optimal and safe program. 6. Performs and provides exercise physiology component of cardiac rehab, especially with universal weights. 7. Maintains and records patient outcomes spreadsheet, enters and interprets data for annual reporting and analysis and assist in performance improvement departmental projects. 8. Assists in organizing patient instructional materials. 9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
1. Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or related field.
Preferred:
1. Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or related field. 2. Certification in American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and BLS. 3. Experience in cardiovascular disease or cardiac unit.
