Job Description

Company Overview FirstLight Home Care is a leading provider of home care services dedicated to helping individuals achieve the quality of life they deserve. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Caregiver/CNA to join our team in a full-time capacity, working Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and caregiving, demonstrating compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of those served. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients while working in a supportive and respectful environment. This is respite care for a male client with Huntington's disease in the Erin, TN area. Candidates must either live locally or be willing to travel to Erin, TN. Requirements include a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a drug test. Duties Provide direct personal care to clients, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and document patients' vital signs, health status, and any changes in condition to ensure proper care planning. Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs, ensuring dietary restrictions are adhered to. Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning client living areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Utilize patient observation skills to identify potential health concerns or safety issues promptly. Operate specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids to assist with patient transfers safely. Experience Prior experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), caregiver, or in similar home health or long-term care settings. Familiarity with assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group home environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders is advantageous. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in hospice or hospice care is a plus. Demonstrated ability to monitor patients' conditions accurately and respond appropriately to emergencies. Strong understanding of care plans, medication management, and safety protocols within home and community care settings.
