Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic law firm. The ideal candidate is a seasoned civil litigator with demonstrated experience managing disputes from pre-suit through trial. This role will focus primarily on business/commercial litigation and probate litigation, including contested probate matters and fiduciary disputes. You will be expected to manage files efficiently, communicate clearly with clients, and work closely with staff to keep matters moving. This role requires exceptional legal research and writing skills, proficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw, and the ability to manage complex cases with professionalism and attention to detail. The attorney will be responsible for representing clients in civil litigation matters, providing strategic legal advice, and drafting legal documents with precision. Key Practice Areas This role may include matters involving: Business disputes and commercial litigation Breach of contract, fraud, tortious interference Partnership/member disputes and closely-held business conflicts Collections and enforcement of judgments Probate litigation (contests, heirship disputes, fiduciary litigation) Disputes involving executors, trustees, and beneficiaries Real property disputes connected to probate or business matters Duties Manage a civil litigation caseload independently and responsibly Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery Handle depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances Develop litigation strategy and case plans based on deadlines and exposure Analyze claims and defenses and advise clients on risk and resolution options Maintain accurate case notes, deadlines, and status updates in the firm's case management system Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to execute tasks efficiently Communicate with clients in a professional, proactive, and timely manner Negotiate settlements when appropriate and prepare cases for trial when needed
Qualifications Required:
Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas (or applicable state) 5+ years of civil litigation experience (probate litigation experience strongly preferred) Strong writing skills (motions, discovery, briefing) Strong courtroom and hearing experience Ability to manage deadlines and keep cases moving without constant oversight Professional communication skills with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff
Preferred:
