Job Description

Environmental Works is currently seeking a motivated, high-energy Pipelayer Laborer to join our Sewer and Underground utility team. We specialize in complex residential and commercial projects, ranging from standard sewer repairs to advanced underground excavation.

The Role:
As a Pipelayer Laborer you will be the backbone of our field operations, assisting in all aspects of underground excavation. This isn't just "digging holes" you will be part of a precision team installing critical infrastructure, operating heavy machinery, and ensuring site safety from trenching to final asphalt/concrete restoration.
Requirements & Responsibilities Field Execution:
Assist in sewer line repair, pipe bursting, CIPP, and trenching. Experience in underground utilities is a major plus, but we will train the right "can-do" candidate.
Heavy Logistics:
Confidently drive and park large construction vehicles and trailers within the tight Portland Metro footprint.
Site Mastery:
Handle site clean-up, concrete pouring, and asphalt patching to ensure the property is left better than we found it.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and perform repetitive motions (kneeling, squatting, reaching) in all weather conditions. Lots of precision hand digging.
Professionalism:
Manage time effectively, multitask in fast-paced environments, and maintain a positive, safe, team-first attitude.
Compliance:
Must possess a Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a background check and MVR search. Your Career Path at

Phase 2: Laborer (6-18 Months): Take on more responsibility in pipe fitting and basic equipment operation. Opportunity for company-sponsored specialized training (e.g., OSHA 10, Confined Space Entry). Phase 3: Crew Lead /
Equipment Operator Training:
Graduate to managing your own projects, operating excavators/backhoes, and mentoring new hires.

$20.00 - $26.00 per hour (D.O.E.)
