Job Description
About the Role Experienced Officers with the City of Champaign protect life and property by enforcing Illinois law and City ordinances.
Key responsibilities include:
Patrolling city neighborhoods, streets, and businesses Performing special details and assigned duties Assisting fellow officers and outside agencies Responding to calls for service and engaging in community problem-solving Conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and preparing reports Preparing cases for court and testifying when required Maintaining accurate documentation and professional standards Scheduling for testing and interviews is based on departmental need; applications are reviewed weekly.Minimum Qualifications Candidates must:
Be a post-probationary police officer in the U.S. Be in good standing with their current/previous department(s) Possess skills and abilities substantially equivalent to a Champaign post-probationary officer, as determined by the Chief of Police Why Join the Champaign Police Department?
