EXPERIENCED Trucking Bookkeeper / Accountant Wanted - Braidwood IL

We are a growing tanker trucking transportation company seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. Our operations are fast-paced and require someone who understands the unique financial aspects of the transportation industry.

Position Summary:

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting overall financial operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in the trucking/transportation industry and is highly proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable Process invoices, driver settlements, and expense reports Reconcile bank statements and company accounts Manage fuel expenses, maintenance costs, and load-related financial tracking Prepare financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets Assist with payroll processing and 1099 reporting (if applicable) Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies Work closely with management to track cash flow and budgeting

Qualifications:

Proven bookkeeping experience (transportation/trucking industry required) Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, spreadsheets, reporting) Familiarity with trucking operations (fuel, dispatch, settlements, etc.) High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Excellent communication skills

Required Qualifications:

Experience with bookkeeping software (e.g., Quickbooks, Excel) Knowledge of IFTA reporting and DOT-related financial compliance Payroll experience in a transportation setting
