Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment, restraining animals, and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring vital signs to ensure optimal health. Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and pocket pets with confidence using proper restraint techniques Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses. Take X-ray images while ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed for both animals and staff. Administer medications via various routes such as oral, injectable, or catheterization procedures with precision and care. Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, laboratory results, radiographs, and patient histories to ensure seamless communication within the team. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, polishing, or extractions as needed. Ensure all clinical areas adhere to safety standards through proper animal restraint and aseptic techniques. Qualifications Proven experience as a veterinary assistant or technician with knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology. Strong kennel experience along with familiarity in animal handling across different species including dogs, cats, and pocket pets Hands-on veterinary critical care experience is highly desirable along with laboratory experience for diagnostic testing. Knowledge of animal anatomy, restraint techniques, catheterization procedures, and aseptic protocols is essential. Ability to interpret veterinary terminology accurately and apply it effectively in clinical settings. Experience operating X-ray machines safely while maintaining image quality standards. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compassion for animals. • 3:00 PM ( Rotating Saturday availability is required ) We are looking for someone with a great attitude, someone who has the desire and drive to do well and is self motivated. Must be willing to work some Saturdays. Salary depends on experience overall. Can be flexible on salary.
