10-month; Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

SUMMARY:
Responsible for administering Career Explore Program for sophomore students and assisting recruitment programs and activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Orientation of explore students to Technology Center rules, regulations and procedures. Instruct and document applicable shop/program safety precautions. Provide Career Interest Inventory assessment and the interpretation of results and further research in career choices. Develop and administer cluster selections and explore rotations for students. Monitor attendance, performance, and modifications of explore students during cluster rotations to enable success. Plans and supervises work of students, individually or in small groups, in shop or laboratory. Maintain and report grades with regards to explore students with regard to attendance and performance. Be familiar with appropriate Career Technology student organizations. Work in a collaborative team with counselors, instructors, and administration to develop general cluster and specific program curriculum. Attends and participates in faculty meetings and Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings as needed. Maintains professional competence through participation in professional development, in-service activities, and professional organizations. Work with cluster advisory committees which meet a minimum of two times a year. Maintains contact with school districts and business community about current employment trends relative to recruitment opportunities. Assist in the coordination of activities and participate in student recruitment.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Teaching experience and/or experience in related field preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to an individual or a group of people.
Mathematical Skills:
Must be able to perform basic general mathematical skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios to allow the performance of grade and general record keeping.
Technology Skills & Abilities:
Ability to operate special computer software (Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, Internet based programs, etc.). Capable of making application of new emerging technologies into program operation.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Ability to meet secondary education certification requirements.
