Position Summary The Fabrication Fitter 's responsibilities include but are not limited to the layout and installation of pipe components for weld prep. The Fabrication Fitter's will also be responsible for inspecting fabricated parts to comply with quality requirements. The Fabrication Fitter's position will understand fabrication and be able to work on projects independently. What You'll Do Foster a culture of safety awareness & prioritization. Ensure that quality standards are met, and champion quality ownership of the work center. Enforce all company rules and policies; communicate issues or concerns with leadership. Hands-on operation of equipment, including but not limited to the use of basic hand tools for assembly and disassembly, and other specialized equipment required for fabrication. Set up machines. Read and interpret blueprints and drawing specifications to plan the layout and assembly required for fabrication. Understand all weld symbols. Prepare welding surfaces as required. Set up components for Welding Specifications. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards. Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by the division and/or corporate management team. Required Skills and Experience A minimum of 5 years experience in welding and fitting is preferred. Experience with reading blueprints. Full understanding of the welding process and displays a high level of quality on the most challenging of jobs. Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments. Education Requirements High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. Technical/Vocational training a plus. Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials. Close mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time. Pass initial drug screening.
