Job Description

Summary The Fabrication Shop Foreman oversees daily operations of the fabrication department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role supervises shop personnel, coordinates workflow, ensures adherence to specifications, and supports on-time delivery of customer orders. The Foreman serves as the primary link between management and shop employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of fabrication personnel (welders, lasers, plasma, press brakes, Robot welders etc.)
  • Assign and coordinate work to meet production schedules and delivery dates.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Monitor quality of work to ensure compliance with customer requirements and company standards.
  • Estimate labor hours and review daily time tracking.
  • Responsible for training, work assignments, performance feedback, and discipline in accordance with company policies for all fabrication shop employees.
  • Enforce safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Coordinate with Estimating, Engineering, Primary Accounts Specialists, and Sales to resolve production issues.
  • Track job progress and report status to Operations Manager.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Assist with hands-on fabrication when needed. Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training preferred.
  • 5+ years of fabrication or metal manufacturing experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIK, Stick), cutting, forming, and fabrication methods.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
