Fabricator (Production FAB)

This position is responsible for making components and parts by fabricating, positioning, aligning and fitting parts of structural metal products. The fabricator is also responsible for producing quality parts using a variety of metal fabrication processes and CNC machines for the truck beds and trailers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications using squares, blue prints and measuring tapes Move parts into correct position manually with pallet jack or fork lift Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determinate material requirements and task sequences Maintain a safety awareness attitude along with remaining alert to potential hazards Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization by keeping tools, material and equipment in proper places Ensure proper safety procedures are followed and personal protective equipment is worn at all times Utilize equipment and material to maximize production and minimize costs for quality control purposes Provide production support in other areas as needed Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses and maintenance Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods. The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues as they arise Ability to read and interpret technical plans, drawings, and blueprints 1-2 years industry experience including fabricator experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred Must be able to read a tape measure
