Check out why General Mills Manufacturing is the place to grow a career: Facilities Maintenance Technician, Blue Buffalo - Richmond, IN As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostics and repairs of machines and equipment. This role requires the ability to disassemble, repair, and reassemble machines and equipment with minimal-to-no instructions, routinely performing complex mechanical assignments. You will maintain equipment such as HVAC, wastewater, boilers, chillers, racks, and doors, and will also repair, maintain, replace, install, and test systems for machines and equipment. You will inspect equipment, diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions, and apply your working knowledge and experience to independently improve facilities operations for the Richmond plant.
Shift hours:
Monday-Friday 7AM -3:30PM Must be willing to be on-call at least 1 week out of every 3 for backup coverage Ability to adjust schedule as needed to support operationsPay:

Maintaining and repairing essential systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, wastewater, compressors, and facility infrastructure Performing preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and reduce downtime Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to keep operations running smoothly Reading and interpreting technical documents, prints, and schematics to support complex repairs Supporting installation, fabrication, and welding projects across the facility Participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase performance and reduce costs Assisting in training new employees and contributing to a strong, team-focused environment Staying flexible and ready to respond to unexpected issues, including on-call rotation (1 week out of every 3) What you have to offer: High school diploma or GED Strong commitment to safety and quality standards Ability to read and interpret SOPs, safety documents, schematics, and technical manuals Experience in industrial maintenance, facilities, or manufacturing (food manufacturing a plus) Hands-on experience with: Mechanical systems (alignment, clearances, repairs) Electrical systems (basic circuits, troubleshooting, installations) Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Welding experience (MIG, TIG, and/or arc welding) Experience using maintenance tools (megger, VOM, etc.) Ability to troubleshoot equipment and identify root causes of failures Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP preferred) Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel) Experience with: Boilers, air compressors, HVAC, chillers, or wastewater systems (preferred) PLC troubleshooting or programming (preferred) Ability to use rigging equipment (chains, hoists, slings, etc.) safely Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to manage repair projects from start to finish Willingness to learn and continue developing technical skills Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams Positive attitude with leadership potential; able to help train others Physical requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods Ability to work at heights (ladders, lifts, platforms) Ability to wear required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, etc.) Willing to follow grooming requirements for food manufacturing environments Comfortable working in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, or wet conditions Ability to work around high-speed industrial machinery Ability to work with food allergens Must be able to work in a tobacco-free environmentSimilar remote jobs
