  • Full-time Are you looking to join a growing company in Sullivan County NY with a competitive salary plus overtime.
We are looking for an experienced maintenance technician with a minimum of 5 year's experience. Part of your daily routine will include preventive maintenance on all factory equipment, troubleshooting equipment issues and performing repairs. We have a preventive maintenance calendar that shows your daily, weekly, month, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual maintenance to be completed to help keep you on track for impeccable equipment maintenance. You'll use personal protective equipment when working on equipment. Part of the work to perform includes assembling mechanical components and electrical devices, and possibly perform welding and fabricating as needed. This role requires you to reach, bend, twist, stand, kneel, carry, grasp, lift, climb, and perhaps sit to repair and maintain equipment and perform facility repairs. You will need to be able to lift on your own 50lbs overhead and have the capabilities of climbing ladders if needed. The skills to get the job done will require you to be proficient in at least 5 areas and have knowledge of the others; Automated equipment operation, including set up, teardown and repair; HVAC experience (EPA certification not required); electrical wiring (240V/480V phase 1-3); hydraulics; pipe fitting and plumbing; pneumatics; sheet metal; welding; shop machinery (lathe, mill); PLC troubleshooting and programming; conveyor/pully belts; installation and removal of bearings/shafts; strong work ethic and being a team player.
Experience Preferred:
Electrical:
Operates meters and testing equipment, programmers and soldering tools (eg: AC, single and 3 phase from 24V to 480V and DC systems); operates new equipment (eg. Motors, relays, timer switches, coils, transformers, switch gear); identify issues with VFD (eg, input-output modules)
Electronics:
Operates computers (desktop programs) and appropriate tools; adjusts set points and machine controls (eg: digital volt ohmmeter, handheld amp probe and held voltage tester, logic, probes, CRT equipment)
Mechanical:
Operates shop equipment (eg: grinders, drills, saws, threaders, lathe, mill) starts up processing equipment, building equipment and refrigeration systems. Replace cylinders, valves, seals, and pumps. Perform predictive and preventive maintenance, shut down.
Welding:
Operates welding equipment (eg: soldering, brazing, hand forging, stainless steel welding, sanitary welding including TIC or oxyacetylene)
Responsibilities:
  • Perform all required operations to install, maintain, diagnose problems, and make necessary repairs to machines to ensure efficient operation condition for maximum availability of production needs.
  • Test equipment and then adjust, replace, or repair damaged electrical mechanisms/parts. Reassemble machine and run to assure proper operation to production requirements and specifications.
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to manager.
  • Able to read and understand owner manual, electrical schematics a plus.
  • Repair plant equipment
  • Replace Relays and input/output boards.
  • Operating and working on facility and equipment using mechanical, electrical and control skills.
  • Troubleshoot and identify VFD issues.
  • Able to operate and understand and voltage meter.
  • Replace pumps, seals, motors, gear boxes, belts, flame rods, VFDs,
  • Capabilities to run up to 480V electricity.
  • Automation troubleshooting/repair
  • Complete work orders satisfactorily in a timely manner which adheres to SOPs and follows GMPS, lock out tag outs and be responsible for modeling safer and effective practice.
  • All other duties assigned as assigned or as business needs change.
  • Operate a forklift, genie lift or scissor lift.
  • Move and install motors, heating and all types of major electrical control equipment and systems.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ownership/pride in facility, machinery and work performed.
  • High level of organizational, time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure with equipment
  • Must be self
  • directed and prepared to take on additional responsibilities when asked.
