Job Title:
Facilities Maintenance Technician (Entry Level)
Type of Position:
Contract•Long Term (conversion to direct hire is likely over time). This role also had good potential for advancement / growth.
Job Location:
Livonia, MI Compensation:
$18.00/hr to $20.00/hr (depending on experience). There may be occasional overtime in this role, and any OT is paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

Available (health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, etc)•benefit eligibility begins the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment. This role will have 9 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO.
Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with an innovative Michigan-based automotive, engineering, and defense organization, to hire a Facilities Maintenance Technician. This role will perform general maintenance such as plumbing, carpentry, office furniture assemblies, heating ventilation, and routine inspections, and grounds keeping. We are looking for fairly entry level candidates (6+ months of experience).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide maintenance support such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical low voltage, door hardware, office furniture assemblies, and heating, ventilation, and routine inspections. Perform minor grounds keeping and equipment troubleshooting. Perform manual labor tasks and support team members during jobs. Identify any hazards as observed for safety of personnel and equipment. Communicate issues with leadership. Perform shop clean-up and other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma OR GED is required at a minimum (higher level education is welcome). Minimum six month's facilities maintenance experience or equivalent in class instruction.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
Able to solve practical problems and diagnose basic plumbing, electrical and equipment malfunctions (such as support circuits and bathroom plumbing). Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measurement, including fractions. Good verbal and written communication skills. Basic skills in the use of power and hand tools. Basic power and hand tools required, with tool list to be provided upon hire. Basic computer skills to enter information into Data system and research repair methods as needed. Good driving record and reliable transportation.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Preferred:
Skilled in the use of a forklift. General maintenance experience. Automotive electrical. Work Environment /
Other Info:
1st (day) shift role. Standard hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (with an occasional Saturday as needed). This role will be a minimum of 40 hours per week, but there will be occasional overtime. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x. Offer may be contingent on a background check and a drug screening. Drug screen would include testing for cannabis. There would be no exceptions to the drug screening (eg: for individuals with a medical marijuana card).
