Reporting directly to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, this position plays an important part in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and employees at a year‑round hospitality property. This role is well-suited for an individual who is eager to contribute, take ownership of assigned work, and continue building technical skills, systems knowledge, and hospitality operations experience through on‑the‑job learning and guidance from the Facilities Maintenance Manager. While this position does not include managerial or supervisory responsibilities, it is a critical operational role that directly supports guest satisfaction, safety, and overall property standards. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities Facilities & Maintenance Perform day‑to‑day maintenance tasks, inspections, and routine repairs across guest rooms, public spaces, and back‑of‑house areas. Support preventative maintenance programs for building systems, includingHVAC/PTAC
units, plumbing, electrical fixtures, lighting, appliances, furnishings, and outdoor amenities. Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner, prioritizing guest‑impacting issues. Identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and general wear‑and‑tear, and communicate findings and recommendations to the Facilities Maintenance Manager. Assist with room readiness and common‑area inspections to help ensure Trailhead Lodge standards are consistently met. Support renovation projects, seasonal maintenance tasks, and vendor‑performed work as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Manager. Outdoor Areas & Facilities Support day‑to‑day pool and hot tub operations under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Manager, including daily visual checks, operational monitoring, and cleanliness standards. Assist with routine pool and hot tub maintenance tasks such as checking water clarity, verifying temperatures are within operational ranges, clearing debris, and ensuring surrounding deck areas are clean, safe, and guest‑ready. Monitor pool and hot tub conditions during operating hours and promptly report irregularities, safety concerns, equipment issues, or water quality concerns to the Facilities Maintenance Manager. Support compliance by assisting with opening and closing procedures, signage placement, and maintaining clean, organized pool equipment and chemical storage areas as directed. Support in the day‑to‑day maintenance of outdoor spaces, including landscaping, walkways, parking areas, and guest gathering areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and visual appeal. Assist with snow and ice mitigation for entrances, walkways, parking areas, and fire lanes to support accessibility and guest safety. Support seasonal transitions for outdoor amenities, helping prepare spaces for changing weather conditions and year‑round use. Help maintain patios, fire pits, and outdoor seating areas so they remain clean, safe, operational, and welcoming for guests. Guest & Team Support Provide operational oversight of the Lodge Services department, including direct management of the Lodge Services Supervisor and team. Ensure guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas consistently meet cleanliness, quality, and Trailhead Lodge brand standards. Collaborate with the Lodge Services Supervisor on staffing, scheduling, training, and daily workflow planning aligned with occupancy needs. Coordinate closely with the Guest Experience Manager and team to ensure room readiness, prompt maintenance response, and minimal guest disruption. Support quality inspections, supply standards, and process improvements to drive efficiency, consistency, and guest satisfaction. Compliance, Safety, & Documentation Support the Facilities Maintenance Manager by assisting with the tracking and timely completion of required inspections, permits, and certifications, including fire systems, pool and hot tub inspections, water and sewer compliance, and applicable local and state requirements. Help maintain organized facility documentation, including maintenance logs, inspection records, manuals, and updates to facility documentation as directed. Follow OSHA guidelines, proper PPE usage, and internal safety procedures at all times, and report safety concerns promptly. Participate in company‑wide safety initiatives, Safety Committee programs, and Green Team efforts, supporting a culture of safety, compliance, and shared responsibility. Work Location & Schedule Full-time, on-site position at Trailhead Lodge. Year‑round operation; schedule may include weekends, holidays, and varied shifts based on operational need. The role includes indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Compliance, Safety & Documentation Track and ensure timely renewal of required permits, inspections, and certifications, including fire systems, pool and hot tub inspections, water and sewer compliance, and applicable local and state requirements. Maintain organized facility documentation, including manuals, maintenance logs, inspection records, and as-built information. Ensure OSHA compliance, proper PPE usage, and adherence to internal safety standards. Participate in company-wide safety programs, Safety Committee initiatives, and Green Team efforts. Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 1+ year of maintenance, facilities, or related experience preferred (hospitality, lodging, or multi‑unit properties a plus). Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair tasks. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and follow‑through. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, walking, and working outdoors. Comfortable using mobile devices or systems for work orders and communication. Secondary Function Provide operational support to Guest Experience, Food & Beverage, Events, and Activities during high‑volume periods, weather events, or staffing gaps. Support resolution of guest‑impacting facility issues in coordination with Guest Services. Assist with maintaining an efficient work order process through clear communication and prioritization. Help promote basic facility awareness among Trailhead Lodge employees, supporting proactive reporting and shared responsibility for hotel spaces. Interpersonal Contacts The Facilities Maintenance Technician works directly with the Facilities Maintenance Manager, the Guest Experience Manager, the Night Auditor, and all Department Mt. Bachelor (Trailhead Lodge) Employees.Specific Job Skills License/Certifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Technical school coursework, vocational training, or an associate degree in Facilities Maintenance, Building Systems, Engineering Technology, HVAC, Electrical, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and progressive project management, facilities, or maintenance experience may be considered in place of formal education.Technical:
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, multi‑system environment. Project management experience. Small equipment operation preferred but not required. Ability to quickly learn and navigate operating technology platforms, including reservation systems to support Housekeeping and Facilities maintenance oversight. Strong competency in Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.Physical Capabilities:
