Jobs › Boston, MA › Facilities Operations Technician I… Oracle Facilities Operations Technician II - Electrical (IC2/OP3) Boston, MA Apply Job Description As a Facilities Operations Technician II - Electrical , you will support the reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance of mission-critical electrical systems within hyperscale data centers. This role is ideal for technicians transitioning from HVAC, industrial, or commercial facilities environments into data center operations. You will build foundational knowledge while contributing to system reliability, supporting troubleshooting efforts, and learning how standards and upgrades protect uptime. Responsibilities Eligibility and Location Requirements This position requires U.S. citizenship and is located onsite in Saline, Michigan. Relocation assistance may be available in accordance with Oracle's relocation policies. Key Responsibilities Support the development and maintenance of electrical standards for high-availability infrastructure, including switchgear, UPS, batteries, generators, grounding, and distribution systems. Assist with troubleshooting activities, power quality observations, incident investigations, and root cause analysis for equipment or system issues. Provide support for upgrades, retrofits, and expansions, including participation in design reviews, commissioning activities, and operational acceptance processes. Partner with site operations teams to improve maintainability, safe execution of work, and documentation quality, including procedures, one-lines, settings, and test plans. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as utilities and vendors, as needed, while learning applicable codes and standards including NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, and local requirements. Review and follow technical documentation to support consistent execution of maintenance and operational tasks across sites. Ideal Candidate Profile Background in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or critical facility operations; data center experience is not required. Hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, building systems, field service, manufacturing, or technical operations environments. Basic understanding of electrical systems and a willingness to learn power distribution and critical infrastructure. Technical certification, trade experience, military technical training, apprenticeship completion, or equivalent practical experience preferred. Skills and Competencies Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow established procedures. Ability to learn quickly and apply new technical concepts in a hands-on environment. Basic troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Good communication and teamwork in operational settings. Preferred Skills / Certifications Exposure to commercial or industrial electrical systems, HVAC equipment, generators, UPS systems, or mechanical/electrical plant operations. Ability to read basic electrical one-lines, schematics, and equipment manuals. Familiarity with lockout/tagout, arc flash awareness, PPE requirements, and safe work practices. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred. EPA Section 608 Certification for candidates coming from HVAC backgrounds. Electrical trainee registration, apprentice electrician status, or equivalent trade credential where applicable.

Physical Demands / Work Environment This is a mission-critical role supporting 24/7 operations where 100% uptime is essential; as such, regular attendance and flexibility for shift-based schedules are required. To perform these duties, you must be able to frequently walk, bend, kneel, crouch, push/pull objects, and climb stairs. You will be required to lift or move up to 39 pounds independently and participate in group lifts for loads 40 pounds or greater . Additionally, you must be capable of maintaining balance while working from a ladder or elevated platforms. These tasks are performed in an industrial environment and must be executed safely, with or without reasonable accommodation, to maintain the continuous health of the facility infrastructure. Hiring Range in USD from $27.07 to $54.13 per hour; from: $56,300 to $112,600 per annum. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
