Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Engineering Manager - Brooklyn. The Engineering Manager is responsible for providing administrative and operational leadership to support the Engineering Department and Plant Utilities operations. This role assists in the planning, coordination, organization, and oversight of repair and maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the facility and affiliated locations for patients, staff, and visitors. The Engineering Manager ensures compliance with all Hospital policies and procedures, as well as applicable standards and regulations established by The Joint Commission, NYSDOH, and all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accreditation, supporting strategic initiatives, and promoting a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with Hospital policies, procedures, accreditation standards, and all applicable governmental and regulatory requirements. Support Environment of Care (EOC) activities, including life safety surveys, emergency response operations such as snow removal and other facility-related initiatives. Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair work in sensitive and patient-care areas to minimize operational disruption. Collaborate with hospital departments, clinical teams, and administrative staff to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures regarding repairs, maintenance, and facility improvements. Supervise Engineering staff, including performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and recommendations related to hiring and termination. Plan, coordinate, and oversee in-house projects and minor renovations to ensure projects are completed on schedule and in accordance with contractual requirements. Oversee the operation, maintenance, testing, and regulatory compliance of all building systems and Life Safety systems. Maintain and continuously improve Engineering Department policies and procedures. Ensure ongoing staff training, competency validation, and participation in Environment of Care Committee activities. Assist the Sr. Director and Assoc. Director with budgeting, variance reporting, business planning, strategic initiatives, and departmental financial accountability. Participate in departmental orientation, continuing education, and performance improvement initiatives. Represent the Engineering Department at organizational meetings and disciplinary proceedings as needed. Support personnel administration activities, including scheduling, payroll, recruitment, and workforce planning. Investigate operational issues and determine appropriate corrective actions in collaboration with the Associate Director of Engineering and Sr. Director of Facilities. Serve as the primary liaison between hospital staff and construction contractors working on-site. Establish and oversee maintenance of departmental records, including personnel documentation, materials and services procurement, licenses, permits, and compliance documentation. Monitor and evaluate departmental performance improvement programs and operational metrics. Prepare reports related to departmental performance, budgets, Joint Commission compliance, quality initiatives, and operational outcomes.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree/High School diploma with equivalent combination of experience 5+ years supervisory experience in engineering or facilities maintenancePreferred Qualifications:

The salary range for the role is $79,698.01 - $137,479.45 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
