Position Summary:
This role is essential to keeping our facility clean, safe, and operating efficiently. The Facilities Support Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and professional environment by performing routine housekeeping and janitorial duties, including weekly cleaning of offices, hallways, and restrooms, as well as ensuring all restrooms are fully stocked. In addition to cleaning responsibilities, this position supports the facility through light maintenance projects such as painting, replacing light bulbs, and completing weekly and monthly preventive maintenance tasks. The role also assists with minor industrial maintenance needs, including replacing gaskets on hoses, maintaining organized equipment storage areas, and updating signage and labels throughout production and building areas. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Must operate and work within our Mission Driven Culture Core Values and Principles and encourage others to do the same. Perform weekly housekeeping tasks, janitorial work, and PM inspections. Assist with minor maintenance projects at the facility including replacing gaskets on hoses, keeping areas clean, and replacing signs and labels on buildings and product areas as instructed. Maintain accurate records where required. Assist with movement of wastes (including hazardous, universal, and used oil) to storage areas. Comply with all EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations including hazard communications/bloodborne pathogens protocols as well as company policy. Adhere to ISO documents and meet company/department quality, environmental & safety objectives. Report all accidents, injuries/illnesses, spills to the supervisor. Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in janitorial, custodial, building maintenance, or other facilities related roles. Strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with hand/power tools as related to light maintenance projects. Must be able to comply with all safety and PPE requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Hazardous waste management experience. DOT Hazardous Materials Regulation certification preferred. Overall knowledge of reactors, instruments, filters, pumps, motors, forklifts, scales, and standard chemical testing equipment.
Licensing & Special Requirements:
Subject to a criminal background check.
Working Conditions:
Most of the work is performed indoors. The incumbent must be able to lift 50+ lbs, carry, twist, walk, bend, rotate, and stand. Must be able to be visually and spatially aware of surroundings, and be able to hear. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and in environments such as the laboratory, production floor, and general office settings. Must be able to use different hand and power tools safely. Proper PPE is required at all times.
