Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and versatile Facility Maintenance Person to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of our facilities through hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and facilities management skills in a fast-paced setting dedicated to excellence. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Conduct repairs involving electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and mechanical components using schematics and technical manuals. Operate tools such as welders and ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues and carry out necessary repairs or modifications. Manage facilities maintenance tasks including residential painting, carpentry, plumbing fixes, and general upkeep. Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and schedule future tasks. Supervise or assist with projects requiring welding or mechanical expertise while ensuring safety standards are met. Read schematics and technical diagrams accurately to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions. Lead or support team efforts in manufacturing or facilities environments with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. Provide excellent customer service by addressing maintenance requests promptly and professionally. Oversee safety protocols during maintenance activities to prevent accidents or hazards. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related fields such as manufacturing or residential building upkeep. Strong electrical experience with the ability to interpret schematics and use testing tools like ohmmeters effectively. Mechanical knowledge including plumbing, carpentry, welding, and general repair skills. Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) used in automation systems. Ability to read technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately. Experience with CMMS software for work order management is preferred. Supervising or leadership experience in maintenance teams is a plus. Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate tasks effectively across teams. Knowledge of safety standards related to facilities maintenance including proper use of tools like welders and testing equipment.
