Factory Accounting Manager

Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a Factory Accounting Manager to lead accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting activities for our Mini Cassia Factory. This role serves as a key business partner to plant operations, providing financial insight that supports operational efficiency and cost management. The position reports to the Corporate Cost Accounting Manager and plays a critical role in accurate financial close and performance analysis. Key Responsibilities Lead all factory‑level accounting and cost accounting activities, including cost allocation and variance analysis Partner with plant operations, agriculture, and engineering teams to analyze cost drivers and operational performance Oversee monthly financial close, including accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and cost allocations Ensure accurate general ledger activity in compliance with GAAP and internal controls Prepare and present monthly operating reports, financial analyses, and key performance metrics Manage invoice processing through Accounts Payable, ensuring proper coding and cost assignment Oversee fixed asset accounting, including additions, retirements, depreciation, and reporting Support annual operating, maintenance, and capital budgeting through detailed cost modeling Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the factory accounting team Support internal and external audits and collaborate with corporate accounting and cost teams Required Skills and Qualifications Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles in a manufacturing environment Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and cost control Proficiency in general ledger accounting and monthly close processes Ability to analyze complex financial data and translate insights to operational leaders Experience leading or mentoring accounting staff Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills Preferred Skills Manufacturing, agriculture, or food processing industry experience Experience working with ERP systems and cost accounting modules Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills Experience supporting capital projects and fixed asset accounting Exposure to internal controls and audit processes Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a fast‑paced environment Prior experience managing or mentoring team members preferred Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered Why Join Amalgamated Sugar Company Amalgamated Sugar Company offers long‑term stability, a strong commitment to operational excellence, and a collaborative work environment rooted in agriculture and manufacturing.
