Job Description

Location:
Woodward, Pennsylvania Woodward PA, located in the rolling hills of central Pennsylvania, is a world-class action sports destination and camp. These roles are for our spring event season which includes Adult Camp (May 21st - May 25th) and Family Camp (May 29th - May 31st). Our Medical Staff should be knowledgeable in the injuries and sport injury prevention as well as basic illness medical treatments. Our Medical Staff will work hand in hand with visiting professional athletes to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all campers.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsibilities include the day-to-day care of illnesses, injuries and medical emergencies that occur on camp facilities for campers, staff, guests and visiting professional athletes - not just on a professional level but personal as well and the increased networking opportunity is unmatched! Within this role there are varying degrees of processes in which must be understood and prioritized in order to successfully achieve the daily operations of this department. Our Medical Staff should be knowledgeable in the illnesses, injuries and sport injury prevention as well as basic illness medical treatments. Our Medical Staff will work hand in hand with visiting professional athletes to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all campers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and be a knowledgeable resource of current and proposed standards of practice and PA state guidelines of Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Ensuring adherence to HIPPA standards Work as a team within the Nursing Station, Athletic Training Room, and Transportation Department to ensure the best care is provided to all on camp property Responsible to provide comprehensive medical care to all campers, guests, and staff Attend and participate in staff training to acquire knowledge for behavior management techniques, emergency evacuation procedures, etc. Responsible for maintaining records on campers, staff, and guests utilizing our internal platforms Recognize changes in patients' condition and respond appropriately Oversee the medicine administration process to all campers, staff, and guests Support athletic trainers and EMTs whom are the primary assessment of injured campers, staff, and guests Contribute to overall organization and administration of the Nurses Station Responsible for scheduling and follow-up evaluation and check-in appointments as needed Liaison between parents, coaches, program staff, and athletes regarding illnesses, injury care, prevention, management, and treatment. Maintain Woodward's safety logs, operational sheets and incident logs Train and develop students to ensure health and safety are executed to Woodward's standards Provide oversight to student Maintain a positive learning environment for clinical education of student and other medical personal Attend weekly meetings to discuss current issues and safety lists Provide on-call overnight coverage on a rotational basis every night via phone and radio coverage Take daily inventory on supplies and operational needs Communicate any and all maintenance needed to uphold a safe and sanitized medical facility Attend camper orientation to provide education on health and safety Help facilitate safety and wellness across the entire camp Support storytelling, social and content ideas for medical, health and safety Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
1+ Years as a: Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified or Registered Medical Assistant. or EMT Active Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensure / Compact State (Multi-State Licensure) Must have 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens Must have CPR Certification Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, comfortable presenting and deploying new technologies Demonstrate broad technical knowledge of management techniques Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team. Provide work related references upon request Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance through the Department of Public Welfare, Motor Vehicle Record if required by position and federal background screening via FBI fingerprinting

Must have or be able to obtain the following prior to starting work: Woodward will supply information to assist you in obtaining these if needed. Mandated Reporter Training Certificate Safesport Training Certificate
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Capabilities:
bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment. Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.
