ENDORSEMENT REQUIRED
: [139] OR [182] Or appropriate CTE endorsement Ability to teach Family and Consumer Science curriculum. Possess competence in computer and technology skills. Communicate with parents as appropriate and on a consistent basis . Supervision and other duties as assigned. Ability to supervise food labs and teach safety and sanitation. Knowledge of the developing child. Serve on one or more building or district committees such as collaborative teacher teams or Career and Technical education team. Cooperate with and participate in building-based initiatives. Recognition of the need for confidentiality with respect to student and parental rights and privacy as well as confidentiality of all conversation hard copy information. Must be willing to support and implement multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for both academics and behavior. Willingness to participate in the building-wide Collaborative Teacher Team process as a part of the Continuous Improvement initiative. Willingness to implement building wide PBIS practices in support of building and district goals. Flexibility in meeting the needs of all students and the school. Willingness to work with technology as it relates to student and building needs. Ability and willingness to work in a collaborative manner with teachers to meet the needs of students with special needs. Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential. Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully. Able to work as a team member. Other duties as assigned by administrator.

  • Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.
Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture. Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather. Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff. Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.

Special Qualification Desired:

Understanding of the need for confidentiality with respect to student and parental rights and for conversations and hard copy information. Experience with Project Lead the Way (PLTW) or willingness to be trained. Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
