Job Description

The Practice:
We are a small family medicine practice in western Montgomery County. The practice was originally opened in 1990 and has been under current ownership since 2008. It has a strong reputation in the community, both for excellent patient care and community service. It is the only primary care medical practice in the Agricultural reserve of Western Montgomery county, encompassing 5 zip codes, and a population of over 15,000 people. Montgomery County is a very diverse and well educated county with a population of 1 million residents bordering Washington DC. Montgomery County is regarded as one of the best public school systems in the country. Poolesville is conveniently located within 30 minutes of Potomac, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, and Frederick. Poolesville has the #1 rated public high school in the state of Maryland. Our primary goal is to provide patients with excellent personalized care while giving our physicians and staff a friendly, collegial, and patient-centered workplace. Our physicians typically only see12-15 patients a day on average. They are able to spend time with their patients without feeling rushed. Typical appointment blocks are 1 hour for adult annual physicals, 30 minutes for child physicals, at least 30 minutes for adult and child chronic condition follow-ups or complicated sick visits, and 15 minutes for simple sick visits. Patients love our practice, because we offer our patients same day sick visits, have easily accessible staff, and efficient visits. Their wait times are typically less than 5 minutes. We can schedule regular follow-up visits within days, so wait times for appointments are extremely short. They also have live in-office staff answer all phone calls (we don't use phone trees or a call center). They also have the flexibility of virtual, phone, and home visits. Our physicians are available by cell number after hours. Our average after hour calls are about 2-3 per week. Our practice contracts with Medicare but otherwise is out of network with all private payors. This allows the practice to provide best in class service to our patients. Our patient population includes a diverse mix of federal employees, small business owners, professionals, blue collar workers, and farmers. We do not accept Medicare Advantage. We do not have mid-level providers, all of our patients are seen by board certified physicians. Our practice has an excellent reputation in the community and among the medical community. We have received multiple state-wide awards for patient satisfaction. Our overall quality measure scores rank among some of the best practices in the state.
