The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview The Access Specialist serves as the vital first point of contact for all internal and external referrals to the Child Partial Hospitalization Program. This role balances efficiency in meeting critical referral volume targets with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. The Access Specialist is responsible for conducting initial screenings, gathering accurate demographic and clinical data, and scheduling intakes within required timeframes while prioritizing urgent patient needs.Qualifications Required:
High School Graduate or equivalent educational credential. Fully bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish languages. Exceptional telephone, customer service, and interpersonal communication skills. Proven ability to effectively organize tasks, multitask, and meet time-sensitive deadlines independently.Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in a human services, healthcare, or related field. Prior experience in healthcare intake coordination, patient registration, or behavioral health scheduling. Familiarity with managed care insurance verification, benefits coordination, and pre-authorization processes. Scheduling Requirements Full-Time (FT) Day Essential Functions Receives all internal and external program referrals, completing thorough phone and walk-in patient screenings. Coordinates and schedules all clinical intake appointments in compliance with departmental scheduling targets. Manages detailed, compliant statistical tracking sheets and spreadsheets of all appointment slots offered and scheduled. Initiates professional follow-up correspondence for missed intake appointments and handles immediate patient rescheduling. Coordinates the comprehensive registration process, ensuring all active medical consents and authorizations are fully executed prior to treatment. Executes managed care insurance verifications, secures authorizations, and resolves billing or coverage issues directly with providers. Acts as a key liaison to external community agencies, including local schools, pediatricians, and social service networks. Provides collaborative telephone coverage for adjacent clerical areas and manages front reception desk workflows as assigned.
