Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting families to improve their quality of life? Then Ozark Opportunities, Inc. has an opportunity for you! The Family Support Specialist role initiates and maintains regular and long-term contact/support with families, primarily occurring in the family's home. Interventions will be family-centered and strength-based and directed at establishing a trusting relationship and strengthening the parent-child relationship. You will be assisting parents in improving their skills to optimize the home environment, improving the family support system, and increasing the family's ability to problem solve and assume the role of advocate for themselves and their children. This position will be located in Marshall, AR and it is full-time at 40 hours per week.

Identification and referral for contact/appointments at other supportive agencies. Responsible for following compliance of the Health Families of America Grant. Responsible for initiating and maintaining regular and long-term contact/support with families, primarily in the client's home lasting an hour each visit. Planning and executing family-centered and strength-based intervention. Responsible for assisting the family in establishing goals and a plan for accomplishment of those goals, as well as the assessment of the normal growth and development of the target child. Builds rapport with co-workers and clients alike to improve the condition of families through problem- solving and advocation. Initiate and track referrals for professional and supportive services. Accurately input and maintain data into databases while generating regular reports based on the collected information, ensuring data integrity and timely delivery. Ideal candidates meeting the following criteria: Possess experience working with or providing services to children and families. An ability to establish trusting relationships. Acceptance of individual differences. Experience and humility to work with culturally diverse families. Knowledge of infant and child development. Willing to engage in building reflective capacity (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing value of supervision, etc.) Infant mental health endorsement preferred.Conditions of Employment:
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Have an active and unhindered Driver's License with personal reliable transportation. Successfully pass Criminal Background including FBI fingerprint and Child Maltreatment checks.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasional lifting and moving of general office equipment, furniture, and project materials. Long periods of sitting, reading, keyboarding alternating with long periods of standing.
