Department:
FAES | Research Operations Reporting to Superintendent of Ag and Field Operations for the CFAES Wooster Campus, operates mowers, weed trimmers, tractors and equipment of various sizes to maintain grounds at CFAES Wooster Farm properties. Transports equipment, supplies and commodities to farm locations within 6 mile radius. Checks equipment lubricants and fuel, cleans and maintains machinery as required. Reports repair issues to mechanic or supervisor. Assists with other farm operations tasks including mowing fields and drainage waterways, drives pick up trucks with trailers/wagons, harvesting crops. Cleans work areas, hauls trash, assists with preparing for outreach events. This is a part time intermittent position. Position located at CFAES Wooster Campus Ag and Field Operations. Operates mowers, weed trimmers, tractors and equipment of various sizes to maintain grounds at CFAES Wooster Farm properties. Transports equipment, supplies and commodities to farm locations within 6 mile radius. Checks equipment lubricants, cleans and maintains machinery as required. Reports repair issues to mechanic or supervisor. Assists with other farm operations tasks including mowing fields and drainage waterways, drives pick up trucks with trailers/wagons, harvesting crops. Cleans work areas, hauls trash, assist with preparing for outreach events. Position is intermittent (working for short term during a season or event), summer mowing position.
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or GED. 0 years of relevant experience required.
Desired Experience:
Two years experience operating tractors with brush cutter or batwing mower, zero-turn mowers, skidsteer loaders, and other farm machinery. Ohio drivers license required. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Basic knowledge of servicing motorized farm equipment, mowers and other machinery.
