  • Full-time Overview Join our dynamic agricultural team as a Farm Lead, where you will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily farm operations and animal care.
This energetic position offers the opportunity to lead hands-on farming activities and ensure animal well-being. As a Farm Lead, you will inspire a team of farm workers while applying your expertise in agriculture to promote efficient farm practices. Duties
  • Overall
  • Promote and re-enforce the company's mission and core values at all levels of the business
  • Help support overall culture and other employees' needs and well being
  • Strive to meet or exceed the company's goals laid out by the Supervisor
  • Dairy
  • Lead the transportation of cattle and feed being delivered to and from the farm
  • Support the Herdsmen as needed
  • Weekly walkthroughs to assure health and care objectives are being met
  • Learn and become familiar with all aspects of the dairy
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of infrastructure and equipment. IE buildings/waterers/milking equipment/sand lane/manure storage/etc
  • Weekly/monthly/quarterly equipment maintenance and documentation IE Bobcats, payloader, tractor, feed mixer
  • Crops
  • Complete all maintenance needs of cropping equipment in a timely manner
  • Play a key role with all aspects during peak season times
  • Maintain organization and inventory of shop
  • Discuss with Supervisor needs and purchasing
  • Business Guidance
  • Discuss, develop, and implement growth/improvement projects that support overall vision
  • Weekly meeting with Supervisor to discuss overall state of dairy and crop operation along with key areas for improvement and long-range planning
  • Schedule and attend one event per year for continuing education and share a summary with the Supervisor and support staff Qualifications Proven experience in farming or agriculture with a strong understanding of crop production or livestock management.
Knowledge of animal handling, husbandry practices, and restraint techniques. Mechanical knowledge related to farm equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
