Farm Market & Plant Nursery Lead Associate

Full-Time Position | Thursday-Monday | 9:00 AM-5:30 PM Forrest Green Farm is seeking an outgoing, friendly, and motivated individual to join our on-farm market team year-round. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has an interest in plants and local food, and is eager to grow alongside our business. This role combines customer service, retail sales, plant nursery care, and overall upkeep of our market and outdoor retail areas. Our top priority is creating an exceptional shopping experience for every customer who visits the farm. Position Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales Welcome customers to the farm with a warm and helpful attitude Assist customers with shopping both inside the market and in the outdoor plant retail area Answer questions about products, plants, the farm, and growing methods Provide compassionate, attentive customer service and anticipate customer needs Accurately process cash, check, and credit card transactions using our Square POS system Store & Plant Nursery Maintenance Restock shelves and maintain attractive product displays Keep the sales floor, greenhouse, and outdoor retail areas clean, organized, and visually appealing, including deadheading plants Update pricing and assist with inventory management tasks Water plants and perform routine plant maintenance, including deadheading, during the growing season Move and lift soil bags, plant flats, potted plants, hoses, and other materials as needed Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Previous retail experience Some plant and/or gardening knowledge Ability to work weekends (Saturday & Sunday, weekly) Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and rain Ability to lift and move garden and retail materials High school diploma or equivalent Professional references required Desired Qualities & Skills Positive attitude and strong work ethic Friendly and personable demeanor Willingness to learn about our farm, products, plants, and growing practices Strong multitasking and communication skills Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable assisting multiple customers at once POS or Square experience is helpful, but training will be provided Interest in herbs, wellness, gardening, and the local food community Benefits Employee discount Farm-grown food and plants Ongoing education in wellness, health, gardening, and food systems Paid holidays One week of paid vacation after 6 months Additional Information There will be a two-week trial period to ensure the position is a good fit for both parties.
