Farm Ranch Mechanic / Operator

Duties Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on farm machinery, heavy equipment, and industrial systems including tractors, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and HVAC units. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, and hand tools to improve or repair equipment. Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently to support daily farm activities. Read and interpret OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, transmission, suspension, and air brake systems. Conduct tire service, brake repairs, alignment adjustments, hydraulic system repairs, and engine overhauls—particularly diesel engines—ensuring all equipment runs smoothly. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and scheduled maintenance tasks; ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist with equipment assembly or installation projects as needed; support team members with heavy lifting and other manual tasks. Experience Proven mechanic experience with farm machinery or industrial equipment; dealership experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, and mechanical troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics essential. Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools, diagnostic tools, and specialized equipment such as cranes or forklifts. Experience operating heavy equipment like excavators or crane systems; valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) or tractor-trailer certification preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in maintenance procedures. Excellent customer service skills when interacting with team members or external vendors; clear communication is key.
