Job Summary:
The Farm Stop Assistant Manager supports the Farm Stop Manager in overseeing all aspects of the student-run business. This includes assisting with vendor relations, schedule management, facility cleaning, and equipment maintenance, as well as ensuring facility safety. The goal is to support the establishment and maintenance of a self-sustaining business operation. The Assistant Manager will assist the Manager in collaborating with other CTE areas to ensure they have access to selling products and services. The Assistant Manager will also support the Manager and the CTE Coordinator in creating capstone or work-based learning opportunities for other students and their pathways.

Curriculum and Planning:
Assist the Manager in developing and implementing operational procedures for the student-run Farm Stop business that align with educational objectives and business goals. Support the integration of learning experiences for students related to business management, supply chain, logistics, and customer service. Help ensure all activities contribute to students' academic mastery and career readiness. B.
Differentiated Instruction:
Support the Manager in providing varied opportunities for students to learn and apply business principles, catering to different skill levels and interests. Offer personalized guidance and support to students in their roles within the Farm Stop as directed by the Manager. C.
Assessment:
Assist the Manager in regularly assessing student performance and understanding of business operations and responsibilities. Provide constructive feedback to students to improve their skills and contributions to the business. D.
Managing Student Learning:
Help the Manager create a structured, engaging learning environment at the Farm Stop that fosters student responsibility and initiative. Facilitate effective teamwork and collaboration among student employees. II. Leadership A.
School Leadership:
Support the Manager in acting as a visible leader for the student-run business, demonstrating commitment to its success and educational mission. Represent the Farm Stop at school and community events as requested by the Manager. B.
Professionalism:
Maintain high professional standards in all interactions with students, staff, vendors, and the community. Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to attendance and excused absences. C.
Communication and Collaboration:
Effectively communicate expectations, goals, and feedback to student employees. Collaborate with school administration, faculty, and relevant departments to ensure the smooth operation of the Farm Stop. Assist the Manager in developing and maintaining positive relationships with all vendors. D.
Professional Growth:
Actively seek out professional development opportunities related to business management, education, and student-run enterprises. Support the implementation of best practices in business operations and educational programming. III. Environment A.
Managing Student Behavior:
Help enforce clear expectations for student behavior and conduct within the Farm Stop. Implement fair and consistent disciplinary interventions when necessary, in collaboration with the Manager. Ensure professional boundaries are maintained at all times with all employees. B.
Classroom Environment:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the Farm Stop facility. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and safely operated. Oversee daily cleaning schedules and adherence to health and safety regulations. IV. Professional Responsibilities A.
Data Analysis:
Assist the Manager in tracking and analyzing business performance data, including sales, expenses, and inventory. Use data to support informed decisions for business improvement and sustainability. B.
Parent and Community Engagement:
Support the Manager's efforts to engage parents and the wider community in supporting the Farm Stop business. Promote the Farm Stop as a valuable community resource and learning opportunity for students. C.
Diverse Learners:
Help create an inclusive environment that supports the participation and success of all students, including those from diverse backgrounds and with varying learning needs. D.
School Improvement:
Contribute to the overall improvement of the school by providing a unique and valuable hands-on learning experience for students. Share best practices and successes with other school initiatives. Stay informed on updates from the Indiana Department of Education regarding school performance and initiatives. V. Other Duties Additional duties as needed to support the daily operations and expectations of the Farm Stop.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Business, Education, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred). Experience in business management, retail, or a similar field. Experience working with students in an educational or vocational setting. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to student success and experiential learning.
