Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
ICAP is a private, non-profit agency mobilizing private and public sector resources to help low and moderate income people improve their living conditions. The Community Services division provides utility and rent assistance for income eligible households. The Fayette County Community Outreach Specialist is responsible for processing EAP applications for walk-in and mail-in clients for this location. This position will also attend and oversee community outreach events within Fayette County.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED plus 2 years related experience. BA/BS degree in related field preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and ability to learn other program specific computer applications. Consent to and successful review of a Limited Criminal History review. Valid driver's license and successful review of a BMV license review. Have reliable transportation and vehicle liability insurance.
MAJOR DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for EAP program and outreach events for Fayette Co. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally. Excellent customer services skills. Work well independently and as a team member. Be detail oriented and work well under pressure. Work overtime as necessary. Provide direct service to eligible households as directed. Assist with needs assessment and provide client referrals to appropriate social service support agencies. Attend meetings and functions pertaining to social services as directed. Review and assess emerging community needs and formulate a report on an annual basis. Establish, develop, and maintain effective relationships with human service and government agency representatives. Complete customer intake application for ICAP programs as assigned. All other duties as assigned. This is a new and evolving position; some duties may not be included in this description.
ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Learn and possess a full understanding of program regulations and guidelines. Ensure program regulatory compliance. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all energy related vendors. Review relevant needs assessment data and complete an annual report detailing current and emerging needs in Fayette County. Sit for long periods at a desk and computer in a climate controlled office. Able to walk, bend, crouch, climb stairs and lift up to 35 lbs.
