Job Description
Primary Purpose:
The Feed Delivery Specialist is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering bulk and liquid feed products to customer locations while maintaining United Ag's feeder fleet and supporting customer operations in the field. This role serves as a direct connection between United Ag and livestock producers by ensuring timely feed deliveries, maintaining company equipment, identifying operational concerns during customer visits, and providing exceptional service that supports long-term customer relationships. The Feed Delivery Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring feed delivery operations run efficiently while protecting company assets and supporting customer success.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Feed Delivery Operations Coordinate and receive feed deliveries to ensure correct products are placed in the appropriate customer feeders. Safely deliver bulk and liquid feed products to customer locations in a timely and accurate manner. Verify delivery accuracy and communicate any product discrepancies to management. Maintain delivery schedules to meet customer needs and operational timelines. Feeder Maintenance & Asset Management Maintain and service United Ag's bulk feeder fleet to ensure equipment remains operational and customer-ready.Perform minor repairs including:
Changing flat tires Greasing bearings Cleaning feeders Repairing minor equipment issues Remove old or damaged feed when necessary to maintain product quality. Track feeder locations and maintain accurate records of company-owned feed assets. Coordinate pickup and delivery of bulk and liquid feeders as needed. Report major repair needs or equipment issues to the Retail Division Manager promptly. Customer Service & Field Support Build strong relationships with producers by providing dependable service and communication. Observe livestock conditions, water availability, and feeder performance during customer visits. Communicate operational concerns observed in the field to customers when appropriate. Support customer feed needs by providing reliable service and responding professionally to requests. Safety & Operational Compliance Operate company vehicles, trailers, forklifts, and equipment safely and responsibly. Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards. Maintain proper documentation related to deliveries, equipment usage, and service records. Report accidents, damages, or safety concerns immediately. Team Support Work collaboratively with feed department personnel and store teams when operational support is needed. Assist during seasonal business demands and high-volume delivery periods. Perform additional duties assigned by leadership. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Two years of related agricultural, delivery, equipment maintenance, or customer service experience preferred Skills & Competencies Strong customer service and communication skills Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment repairs Ability to work independently in field environments Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently Certifications & Licensing Valid driver's license required Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain after hire) Propane certification required (or ability to obtain after hire) CDL preferred depending on delivery vehicle requirements Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Ability to lift and move feed bags, tubs, and equipment parts up to 100 pounds Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to stand, bend, lift, and operate equipment for extended periods Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends or extended hours during peak seasons when needed The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
