Job Description

Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented team member to join our Feed and Maintenance Department in Herington, KS. If you've got a strong passion for animal husbandry and you enjoy a faster moving environment that relies heavily on teamwork and a positive attitude, then you'll fit right in!
Specific Duties May Include:
Load, mix, and deliver feed rations according to feed delivery softwares Properly distribute specific cattle rations to their respective pen Operate feed truck and related equipment safely and efficiently Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance daily, and report mechanical issues promptly Monitor feed bunks during delivery and report abnormalities Maintain cleanliness of truck, mixer, and feeding areas Communicate effectively and respectfully with feed management and livestock personnel Operate equipment such as loaders, skid steers, tractors, and haul trucks Haul and manage compost and manure as part of pen maintenance Repair and maintain feed bunks, fencing, gates, water systems, and facility infrastructure Support pen cleaning and yard maintenance efforts Assist with snow removal and weather-related yard needs Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures
Experience:
Preferred at least 2 years of livestock experience.
Environment and Physical Demands:
Rain or shine, cattle always need fed! Weather/seasonal conditions may be harsher than others, but it is up to us to make sure these cattle are properly cared for, even when the radar doesn't seem appealing. Prepare for some physical demands that may include walking or standing for long periods of time, and moving heavy objects. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
