Job Description
Fiber Installer Job Description:
Perform underground and overhead installation of fiber or copper drops from main service connections to exteriors of residences and businesses in a manner that aligns with the Company Culture, Mission, Vision, Values, Virtues, Policies, Procedures, while meeting Safety and Installation Quality standards and providing an exceptional delivery of service that reflects the Company Brand Standards. Perform installations of underground cable using the required associated equipment such as but not limited to locators, trenching machines, vibratory plows, and boring attachments and bucket trucks as required in residential and commercial environments. Interacts with the end-user to coordinate the routing and proper installation of all equipment and devices.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for observance and compliance of all company safety rules, policies, and procedures. Safely, efficiently install overhead and underground cables in residential and commercial environments meeting all company and Partner specifications. Use best practices for the installation of overhead and underground wiring so as not to violate local building codes. Maintain an understanding of company policies & procedures. Operate various trenching equipment such as a mini skid steer. Complete work according to company specifications & quality standards. Manage worksite according to high safety standards, including setting up traffic control signage and following safety procedures with all work equipment. Locate existing buried facilities and comply with 811 requirements (OneCall) before any digging projects, properly identifying other utility flags and safely working around other utilities. Uphold company conduct standards Clean, maintain, and organize stock for company vehicles and prepare equipment to safely perform required duties and reflect the highest brand standards. Meet Company Completion & Productivity Rate targets. Complete and maintain records as required, including completion of all required information on work orders to ensure details. of work are recorded accurately for entry into Company systems. Keep accurate records of materials used on a per job basis. Load reel trailers with strand, fiber, or cable as required. Complete work in accordance with Company Compliance requirements. Bury cable and conduit systems, by operating blowing, plowing, digging, bores, and trenching equipment and pulling fiber and cable through conduit systems. Participate in ongoing educational opportunities in order to maintain current knowledge of fiber network operations, technology changes and matters as they relate to the position needs (will attend specified training classes and or seek certifications when required). Maintain up-to-date knowledge of various technologies, devices, and equipment used in the course of the position's normal responsibilities. Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle both internally and externally. Ability to terminate small count fiber cables Perform other duties as assigned in order to fulfill the objectives of the company and this position.Pay Range:

High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company's minimum safety standardCommercial Drivers License and PLUS Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required :
Aptitude to read and interpret fiber records, staking sheets, specification sheets, and circuit diagrams, and be able to splice fiber as directed. Requires significant time doing manual labor tasks and sometimes working in tight spaces. Aptitude to read engineering drawings and correlate them to the physical plant. Ability to read, write and communicate professionally daily through email, spreadsheets, and other more formal presentations as needed. Must be able to effectively communicate between departments and maintain good relationships with all interacting departments. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized with the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines. Ability to carry, climb, and operate ladders (ability to carry up to 80 lbs.). Ability to operate various service equipment including but not limited to hand tools, electric drills, test sets, a company vehicle and applicable trencher and related attachments. High level of integrity and professional values. General knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Ability to exhibit visual depth perception. Knowledge or ability to read and interpret training and educational materials as they pertain to the position's responsibilities. Knowledge of basic mathematics skills and the ability to make simple calculations and analyses. Dexterity in both hands. Critical thinking skills with self-motivation and problem-solving abilities. Skilled in the use of basic hand and power tools. Ability to handle and use a 28ft fiberglass ladder.Physical Demands:
Visual acuity, manual dexterity, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and climbing up to heights attainable with a 28ft ladder. Manual dexterity is required to maintain proper safety while performing work from various locations including a ladder. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.Working Conditions:
Minimum of eight hours a day, minimum, of five days a week. May work on Saturdays and or Sundays as scheduled Works outside in inclement weather conditions. Extensive daily travel within the company's coverage area within 1 hour radius of corporate office in Horn Lake, MS.Job Type:
