Ripley's Inc is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Fiber Optic Cable Splicer to support our seasonal field operations (typically April-September) throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. This role is essential to ensuring fiber optic networks are installed, spliced, and maintained properly to meet project specifications and performance standards. Technicians are considered part of the field crew and are expected to contribute to overall project operations while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Examples of some of the job's activities will include: 1.) Splice underground fiber optic cables in handholes, vaults, and pedestals. 2.) Prepare fiber optic cables and closures for splicing, including stripping, cleaning, organizing, and protecting fibers. 3.) Install, maintain, and troubleshoot underground fiber optic infrastructure at job sites. 4.) Read and interpret fiber splice diagrams, construction prints, and network maps. 5.) Travel to and from job sites in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Most projects require staying on the road for at least one week at a time.

Examples of qualifications include:

Experience splicing and terminating underground fiber optic cables. Experience operating fusion splicers and fiber preparation equipment. Ability to read and interpret fiber network diagrams and construction prints. Ability to relocate to or commute daily to Erhard, Minnesota. Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including extended overnight stays. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical labor. Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. Benefits The expected compensation for this role is $30.00 - $34.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Overtime is scheduled and paid weekly. Above-average pay with scheduled weekly overtime. Paid travel time Daily per diem for overnight travel. Company-provided transportation and company-paid lodging. 100% employer-paid health insurance premiums after 60 days of employment. SEP retirement contributions and production bonuses based on company profitability.
