Description:
Join our team as a Field Instructor at Behavioral Health Services in Toppenish, WA! The Field Instructor provides clinical instruction, supervision, and mentorship to students, interns, and staff working toward advanced degrees or independent licensure in social work and behavioral health. This role collaborates with internal teams and academic partners to develop high-quality training experiences and ensure program excellence. This position also offers the opportunity to maintain a reduced clinical caseload, delivering direct care to patients with complex behavioral health needs. Position Highlights:

What You'll Do:
Provide field instruction, mentorship, and educational guidance to students, interns, and staff pursuing behavioral health or social work degrees Deliver clinical supervision hours for clinicians working toward independent licensure Develop and coordinate student/intern placement processes in collaboration with leadership and academic partners Partner with universities and internal teams to support training, curriculum alignment, and program requirements Design and facilitate trainings, workshops, and presentations to support clinical learning objectives Monitor, evaluate, and report on student/intern performance to internal stakeholders and academic institutions Support workforce development initiatives by assessing training needs and tracking program outcomes Maintain communication with academic institutions and serve as liaison for field placement coordination Provide direct patient care through assessments, diagnosis (DSM-5), treatment planning, and counseling services Maintain accurate documentation, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinate referrals/resources for patients Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Master of Social Work 2 years of experience in the direct treatment of individuals with behavioral health diagnoses is required; Washington State designation as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) may be substituted for the direct treatment experience requirement Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LiCSW) or Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW) credential is required Washington State Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) designation preferred Current CPR/First Aid card or obtained within 45 days of employment Spanish speaking skills preferred at a level 10 Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage Strong knowledge of DSM-5 and behavioral health practices Understanding of Washington State regulations (RCWs/WACs) Experience with culturally responsive care and diverse populations Ability to mentor, teach, and present effectively Strong communication and collaboration skills Our Mission Statement "Together we transform our communities through compassionate, individualized care, eliminating barriers to health and well-being."
