Field Service Technician Location:

Pascagoula, MS Reports to: Houston, TX. Service Center Make an Impact Where It Matters Most Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking skilled and motivated Field Service Technicians to support mission-critical equipment in a dynamic shipyard environment. If you enjoy hands-on problem-solving, working with complex mechanical systems, and being part of a team that supports national defense, this is an opportunity to build a meaningful and rewarding career. What You'll Do As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of equipment, including: Diesel engines Electrical controls Roll-up doors Cranes Elevators Davits You'll work both independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot issues, restore equipment to full operation, and deliver exceptional service to customers. Key Responsibilities Technical & Service Execution Diagnose equipment issues and develop effective solutions Perform scheduled and emergency service with a focus on first-time fix Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Maintain up-to-date service documentation and reports Stay current on engineering updates, service notices, and product changes Customer & Team Collaboration Build strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and leadership Communicate clearly regarding service updates and estimated timelines Represent the company with professionalism and technical expertise Operations & Performance Plan and prioritize work to maximize efficiency and productivity Complete service reports, expense reports, and administrative tasks accurately and on time Maintain company equipment, tools, and vehicle Support shop work as needed (assembly, inspections, testing, etc.) Safety Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE Complete required safety training Report incidents immediately and maintain a safe work environment

What You Bring Required:

High School Diploma or GED One of the following: Associate degree in a technical field + 4 years of relevant or military experience 4+ years of military or industry experience in similar equipment

Technical Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Ability to read and interpret diagrams and blueprints Experience or foundational knowledge in: Hydraulics and pneumatics PLCs and electronic controls Proficiency in

Microsoft Office Preferred:
