Technology, Software, IT, Electronics Description Description Make a difference for national security by leading a team of dedicated professionals in supporting the Space Development Agency (SDA) in developing and deploying the Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) software development and hosting environment for the National Defense Space Architecture (NDSA). These systems establish software development capabilities to securely and rapidly field mission applications developed by BMC3 ecosystem participants in support of Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) objectives. SAIC has an immediate need for a Field Service Engineer with software (SW) & hardware (HW) development, integration, operations and maintenance experience for space and ground systems. This position is located in Grand Forks, ND We are looking for an innovative and motivated individual to be SAIC's on-site representative to plan and execute testing, training, maintenance, and operate the BMC3 ground hardware and support NDSA operators. Our chosen representative will work with the SDA operations team to assess, test, and onboard code developed in legacy or external environments such that it meets the requirements for integration and deployment in the BMC3 ecosystem. Candidates must have experience with planning, executing and testing software developmental programs with demonstrated ability to lead the software development team in support of program management to meet customer milestones.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Plan and execute testing, training, maintenance, operation of the BMC3 ground hardware and support NDSA operators at the
SDA SNOC.
  • Support BMC3 Ecosystem DevSecOps CI/CD from the SDA SNOCs.
  • Operate the BMC3 Ground Hardware and BMC3 applications.
  • Perform testing of applications in Canary Operation.
  • Support SDA O&I and coordinate with BMC3 Application Developers during BMC3 Application anomaly response.
  • Creating and executing test operational plans and procedures, performing data collection and analysis, and authoring test reports as required to support BMC3 AppFac, s/w and h/w testing.
  • Provides inputs into the labor, schedules, equipment and s/w required for testing.
  • Developing and briefing data packages that provide analysis results to inform the government decision-makers.
  • Collaborating with prime contractors, other team contractors, government civilians, and members of the Space Development Agency and U.
S. Space Force. Qualifications .Bachelor's Degree and nine plus (9+); Master's Degree and five plus (5+); PhD or JD and two plus (2+) years of working experience with systems engineering and test experience in space, ground, operations and sustainment segments of DoD, NSA, or NRO programs. Proven delivery record with Systems engineering, testing, and integration experience with hardware and software systems. Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams. Experienced at self-starting, seeking solutions, and works well in a team environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Unix/Linux-based operating systems, including the ability to navigate, configure, and troubleshoot systems in operational environments. Understanding of command-line tools or system monitoring, scripting, and process management. Experience working with software repositories such as Gitlab, Nexus, or similar tools for version control, artifact management, and collaborative development.
General understanding of:
CI/CD pipelines and their role in automating application deployment. Containerized application technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their use in software deployment and orchestration.
Desired Qualifications:
SCI eligibility. Advanced Degree in Science, Engineering or Math.
Clearance:
Must have a Top-Secret Clearance
