The Finance Director is charged with managing the City's financial functions, budget, and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions; maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems; and providing long-term and strategic financial support for the City's public projects. The Director leads five highly productive divisions of theFinance Department:
accounting, some HR functions, purchasing, recording of property tax and sales & use tax and municipal court activities. Responsibilities and duties include a variety of complex supervisory, professional, administrative, and technical accounting and finance-related functions; safeguarding the fiscal systems and records of the city; and creating, modifying, presenting, and explaining the City's financial programs, policies, and services. s Additional responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to financial reporting, procurement processes and policies, payroll, external audit, accounting for financial investment transactions, post-issuance compliance and disclosure, leadership roles in policy and strategic projects, and other ad-hoc special projects, as needed. sREQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of modern and highly complex principles and practices of financial administration, particularly in the areas of accounting, budgeting, and cash management. Principles of personnel, administration, supervision, and training. Applicable Federal, State, County and local laws, rules and regulations pertaining to local government operations. Budget preparation, program analyses, and revenue forecasting. Skills in effective oral and written communication Must be fluent in excel and QuickBooks Software or similar software. Must have a minimum of 3 years of government accounting. Position Open Until Filled. Ability to work effectively under extreme pressure/stress while performing Essential Job Duties.
