Job Description

Finance Manager (Agriculture & Dairy Operations) Position Overview We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Finance Manager to lead the financial operations and support HR functions of our growing agriculture and dairy business, located in Stevinson, California. This role is ideal for a high-level accounting professional and/or bookkeeper who can own the entire financial function—from day-to-day transactional oversight (AP/AR, payroll, GL accounting) to financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement. This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday through Friday. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Oversight Lead and manage full-cycle accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger posting Oversee month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting Prepare and analyze cash flow Maintain strong internal controls and accounting processes Coordinate with external CPA and tax advisors Accounts Payable & Receivable (Hands-On + Oversight) Perform and oversee all AP and AR functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Process vendor invoices including coding, data entry, and proper approval routing Manage weekly check runs / electronic payments and maintain payment schedules Generate customer invoices, post payments, and manage collections Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts; resolve discrepancies Maintain organized and accurate supporting documentation for all transactions Payroll Management & Compliance Oversee and/or process payroll for a multi-employee workforce Review timecards and coordinate approvals with foreman Ensure compliance with California wage laws and agricultural labor regulations Manage payroll tax filings (941/943), reporting, and year-end documentation (W-2s, 1099s, 1095s) Implement and maintain payroll best practices and controls Human Resources Administration Oversee HR operations, including onboarding, employee records, and compliance Ensure adherence to state and federal employment laws and policies Support employee relations and provide guidance to management Maintain and improve HR processes, documentation, and systems Operational Leadership Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies Partner with leadership across office and field operations Assist with audits, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance Qualifications 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or bookkeeping Strong expertise in full-cycle accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll Experience supervising or overseeing AP/AR functions Working knowledge of HR administration and employment compliance Proficiency in accounting software (AgStar, ExakTime or similar ERP systems) Strong analytical ability and reporting skills Proven ability to work independently, lead processes and adapt to a fast-paced multi-changing environment High level of integrity and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Experience in agriculture and dairy operations Familiarity with ag labor laws, seasonal workforce, and hourly pay structures Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) Compensation & Benefits $80,000 - $100,000 annually (depending on experience) Health benefits, PTO, and retirement options Yearly bonus opportunities Work Environment On-site, in-office role (Monday-Friday) Located in a working agriculture/dairy environment Fast-paced setting with seasonal operational demands
