Daily functions of the role will include, but are not limited to, posting all revenue and expense transactions, accounts receivable, collection calls, and processing of bi-weekly payroll. Teva Landscaping uses QuickBooks for its accounting system and for its payroll processing system.
Responsibilities:
Work alongside company CEO to create budgets and strategies for maintaining budget, as well as discussing projections for expenses; Create reports, memos, letters, and financial reports weekly; Oversee accounting, receivables, collections, and update QuickBooks with payments received, receipts, and bills consistently; Make regular bank deposits as well as handle bank reconciliations consistently; Manage staff payroll processing and reporting (1099, W-2s, etc.); Supervise mail flow, both incoming and outgoing; Meet with company's CPA on a monthly basis to facilitate compliance and upkeep of all federal, state, city taxes, reporting, licenses, registrations, and ensure that all tax goals are met and work together on audits, if necessary; Ensure responsive, timely, and courteous communication with clients, prospective clients, and vendors; Be a productive team member and help to develop a greater system of order; Ensure that all paperwork is current and up to date; Support the purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies; Ensure controls and procedures are in place to mitigate risk; Handle aspects related to rental properties, such as collect monthly rent, pay utilities, etc.
Requirements:
10+ years of Accounting/bookkeeping experience; Superior computing skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (mainly Excel and Word), QuickBooks, Google Docs/Drive, Email, other web-based applications; Strong writing and editing skills; Excellent interpersonal, organizational, team, and analytical skills; Be extremely well-organized and have excellent time management skills; Demonstrate drive to innovate and improve systems and operations; Experience working in a dynamic organization; Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and agency information; Ability to prioritize tasks; Ability to work independently and at a fast pace; Capability to take initiative on projects, solve problems, and follow through; Able to adapt to changes in daily tasks, but able to continue where things were left off; Excellent phone communication skills; Experience with real estate preferred; Understand cycles of expenses. Ability to multi-task with a smile;
