Job Description

Join our Team as a Finance Technician II - Where Accuracy Supports Community The City of La Grande is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Finance Tech II to support the essential financial functions that keep our City running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone with solid accounting experience who's ready to take the next step in a collaborative, service-focused environment. As a Finance Tech II, you'll work across a variety of core functions—utility billing, accounts receivable, municipal court processing, reconciliations, reporting, and customer service. Your work will directly support the accuracy, transparency, and reliability of the City's financial operations. Our Finance team believes we're truly better together. We rely on each other's strengths, communicate openly, and take pride in providing dependable service to both our internal departments and the community we serve. In this role, you will: Maintain and reconcile utility billing and accounts receivable Process court citations and support municipal court revenue tracking Assist customers in person, by phone, and via email Support audit preparation, reporting, and financial recordkeeping Contribute to a team that values accuracy, professionalism, and continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalency. One (1) year of experience relative to accounting practices and procedures, including computerized accounting systems. Experience in a municipal government office environment; or any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, college courses and/or training in math, bookkeeping/accounting, or other business applications that ensures the ability to perform the above duties.
