This role performs a variety of bookkeeping and accounting functions while working closely with firm leadership and outside accounting professionals to ensure financial accuracy, organization, and compliance with legal accounting requirements. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who takes pride in organization, accuracy, and ownership of their work. We are looking for someone who wants to grow within the accounting field, contribute to improving processes, and become a trusted part of the firm's financial operations. Key Responsibilities Record and maintain daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable Manage accounts payable, including processing vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments Process employee reimbursements and firm-related expenses Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, liability accounts, and client trust accounts on a monthly basis Assist with client trust account (IOLTA) activity while maintaining compliance with legal and ethical accounting requirements Support client billing by tracking reimbursable expenses, posting payments, and assisting with invoice review Maintain accurate general ledger entries and supporting documentation Follow established month-end and year-end close procedures Prepare account reconciliations and financial summaries for management review Coordinate with outside accountants and CPAs regarding payroll, taxes, audits, and financial reporting Maintain organized financial records in accordance with firm policies and document retention standards Assist with budgeting, cash flow tracking, and financial organization initiatives as assigned Identify discrepancies, resolve issues proactively, and escalate concerns when appropriate Maintain confidentiality of financial and client-related information at all times Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and contribute to the continued improvement of accounting processes and workflows Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience) 2-5 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance support experience preferred Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software preferred Experience with legal or trust accounting is a plus, but not required Understanding of basic accounting principles and account reconciliations Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently Strong integrity and ability to handle confidential information professionally Desire to grow professionally and take initiative within the role Skills & Competencies Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills Understanding of bookkeeping and foundational accounting concepts Ability to reconcile accounts and research discrepancies independently Comfortable processing accounts payable, expenses, and financial transactions Effective communication skills with attorneys, staff, vendors, and clients Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office software Ability to learn new systems and adapt to evolving processes Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and strong sense of accountability Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and support operational efficiency
