Job Description

•this position is anticipated to be short term for approximately 6 months•
JOB SUMMARY
The Management Accountant will provide the senior leadership with all information needed related to volumes, revenues, expenditures and cost controlling for the business unit. This position is responsible for reporting and controlling expenditures in compliance with the objectives of annual cost and revenue budgets and the Client's standards in terms of project and operations cost control. The Accountant will work closely with all departments including the Development, Production Operations, and Project Management teams as well as the Drilling and Completions organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Monitor and partner with the business units to manage expenditures and support decision making across the business. Monitor contractual terms, production operations, and value of work completed against invoices received to determine monthly accruals. Support the preparation and reporting of annual budgets, monthly performance reporting, and tracking against KPIs, and prepare analysis and commentary for results. Review and updating of cost coding and allocations. Review, analysis, and updating of production operation forecast values. Develop cost controls, operating metrics, and reporting procedures in readiness for first oil operationalization Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations. Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in finance or business 5+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong problem solving, data modelling, and analytical skills Proficient computer skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.) Experience working on oil and gas production operations and major capital projects
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
MBA, CPA, or any relevant cost control certifications Experience working with SAP and Power BI Experience working in a harsh weather or logistically challenging environment within oil and gas Knowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry from within an exploration and production company Experience with joint venture and IFRS accounting

From $60.00 per hour
