JOB DESCRIPTION
Administrative Secretary III•
Local School Accounting Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or sufficient experience, education, and training that demonstrate ability to perform duties and responsibilities of the position Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping, and other financial functions such as, counting, receipting, expending and reporting activity of school funds. Minimum of 5 years' experience in bookkeeping responsibilities Knowledge of state manual, procedures and compliances for Local School Accounting Experience working with applied computer software to include, but not limited to, McAleer, Microsoft Word, Excel, and similar applications Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial information Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Such other qualifications as may be appropriate or desirable
Essential Duties :
Assist with performing on-site assessments of the schools in Montgomery County Assists with performing follow-up assessment procedures from on-site assessments of schools that were found to have irregularities Assists school bookkeepers and principals, when practical, with tasks, such as, voiding receipts, maintaining receipt modules, creating vendors, deleting check batches, addressing computer problems, opening fiscal periods and balancing monthly reports. Assists with monitoring and reporting irregularities of school software, financial procedures and financial documents that have been generated to record receipts and expenditures of school funds. Prints and compiles reports from applied software. Performs various secretarial and bookkeeping tasks, as well as, gives administrative support to an officer or administrator. Maintains files, inventories and other records
