Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting operations for a Contract position based in Heber Springs, Arkansas. This role will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing tax-related filings, and supporting day-to-day ledger activity within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with corporate and sales tax processes, journal entries, and Sage accounting platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record journal entries to keep financial data accurate, timely, and properly supported.
- Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, reconciling balances, and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with corporate tax activities, including the preparation of supporting schedules and return documentation.
- Manage sales tax reporting requirements and help ensure filings are completed in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Support monthly and periodic close processes by organizing financial information and validating account accuracy.
- Work within Sage-based accounting systems to process transactions, generate reports, and maintain reliable financial records.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather accounting data and provide financial support for operational needs in a manufacturing setting.
