Job Description

Staff Accountant Team Member - Tax Emphasis Ballard & Company, Ltd. has re-imagined the way we service our clients by leading the relationship with Advisory Services. The tax return is the end result of strategic planning. We have moved from the traditional historian role to a proactive, strategic partner. Through our advisory services, Ballard & Company, Ltd., partners with our clients through educating clients and implementing tax efficient business strategies. Are you ready to work differently? As a Staff member, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our clients to
  • Proactively interact with clients and members of the client service team to prepare tax returns for all types of entities and individuals
  • Perform research and document well supported conclusions
  • Develop your advisory and maintenance knowledge, skills, and abilities for continued growth and responsibility opportunities
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Follow regulations and professional ethics of the AICPA and the State Society Core Competencies
  • Ability to work with applicable software programs effectively and efficiently to produce finished products
  • Actively pursue on the job learning and formal learning to develop and refine skills and competencies
  • Apply analytical skills to decision making and problem solving
  • Ability to understand assignments and ask questions when in doubt
  • Review own work for accuracy and completeness before submission
  • Exhibit a high level of learning retention
  • Organized, capable of prioritizing work, and conscious of the importance of time management

  • Take responsibility for quality client service
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of client's business and recognize potential opportunities Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience with a CPA firm preparing Individuals, Partnerships and Corporations
