This role covers accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and month-end close, and the preparation of weekly job cost reports tracked by lot number and job code. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a batch-production environment, has a strong grasp of cost accounting, and can turn production and purchasing data into clear margin analysis that informs operational and pricing decisions. Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable & Receivable Process vendor invoices, match to purchase orders and receiving documents, and manage the payment cycle. Generate customer invoices, apply cash receipts, and manage collections and aging follow-up. Reconcile AP and AR sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies. Maintain vendor and customer master data, including terms, tax status, and W-9 records. General Accounting Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger across all accounts. Perform month-end and year-end close, including accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and investigate variances. Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting. Assist with audits, tax filings, and internal control documentation. Job Cost Reporting & Margin Analysis Prepare weekly job cost reports tracking material, labor, and overhead by lot number and job code. Reconcile actual production costs to standards and bills of material, investigating variances. Tie job costs to batch records and production output to ensure accurate cost capture per lot. Analyze gross margin and profitability by job, product, and customer; flag underperforming jobs. Partner with operations and purchasing to validate cost inputs and improve data accuracy. Maintain and improve the costing model and reporting templates as products and processes change. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience covering AP, AR, and general ledger. Demonstrated experience with cost or job costing accounting, ideally in manufacturing. Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, formula-driven models) and ERP/accounting software proficiency. Solid understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet recurring weekly and monthly deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing, batch-production, or regulated environment (life sciences, pharma, food, or chemical). Familiarity with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory/WIP accounting. Experience tying financial data to batch records or production lot tracking. CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification. What Success Looks Like AP and AR are current, clean, and reconciled every month. Month-end close is completed accurately and on schedule. Weekly job cost reports are delivered on time, by lot and job code, and trusted by management. Margin analysis surfaces actionable insight on job and product profitability.
