Senior Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

Covid Audio Visual, a Tempe based, leader in the design and manufacturing of audio-visual connectivity equipment, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on while also taking ownership of key accounting processes and financial reporting activities. This position will serve as a primary accounting professional within the organization and will work closely with company leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, overseeing inventory accounting, managing payroll and sales tax compliance, and helping improve accounting processes as the company continues to grow. This role offers a clear path for advancement for the right individual.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations. Own and coordinate the monthly close process. Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports. Perform inventory accounting, inventory reconciliations, and cost analysis. Manage sales tax compliance and related reporting. Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Support annual audits and tax preparation activities. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls. Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Management to support business objectives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 4+ years of progressive accounting experience 1-year experience with inventory accounting in a manufacturing or distribution environment, including inventory reconciliations and cost tracking. 1-year experience with multi-state sales tax processing Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables. Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus) Strong understanding of GAAP, payroll processing, and sales tax compliance Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic work setting
